In an upcoming update, we will remove country and region options from learning language selection in Settings, journal writing, and voice journals. Options such as English (UK) and English (Australia) will be grouped under English.
Our current AI corrections and AI Chat do not switch between regional varieties based on this selection. We are updating the options to reflect how these features work. Learning languages, corrections, and AI Chat will remain available.
Reading voices will also use a default region for each language: US English and Brazilian Portuguese, for example. Depending on your previous country or region setting, your reading voice may change. This also applies when reading past journals and AI conversations aloud.
Your saved journals and learning languages will be retained, along with any audio you have recorded.
Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese will remain separate options.
